Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
Welcome to EggDex: Item Collector ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our mobile game ("the Game"). By playing EggDex: Item Collector you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
a) Information collected automatically
- Device type, operating system version, and language setting
- General location (country / region level) derived from IP address
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks) via Google AdMob
- Crash reports and performance diagnostics (via Firebase Crashlytics)
- Gameplay usage events, such as items found, event participation and feature usage (via Firebase Analytics)
b) Information stored locally on your device
- Game progress: inventory, gold balance, collection status, active egg state
- Daily quest progress and login streak
- Equipped egg skin preference and notification settings
c) Information stored on our servers (Google Firebase)
- Anonymous account: When you start the Game, Firebase Authentication creates an anonymous User ID (UID). No personal information is required to play.
- Leaderboard: Your chosen username, total eggs cracked, and any event title you earn (e.g., "Champion") are stored and visible to other players.
- Community Boss Event: When you take part in the weekly Boss Egg event, your username and the damage you dealt are stored and shown on the event leaderboard.
- Weekly Champion: If you finish an event in 1st place, your username is permanently recorded in the event's Hall of Champions and appears on a unique in-game item that other players can collect.
- Invite system: If you use or share an invite code, we store the code and which account invited which, so both players can be rewarded.
- Item statistics: We keep aggregated, anonymous counts of how many players own each item, which are used to show rarity percentages.
d) Community collections (user-generated content)
- Players can create pixel-art collections in the Game. Submitted drawings, their item and collection names, and the creator's username are stored.
- Submissions are reviewed before they appear in the Game. If approved, they are shown to other players together with the creator's username.
- Players can report community content. Reported content is hidden for the reporting player and reviewed by us.
e) Optional account linking and Cloud Save
- You may choose to link your account with Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple to back up your progress. Linking is entirely optional; the Game is fully playable without it.
- When you link, we receive your email address and account identifier from Google or Apple. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email" option, we only receive a private relay address.
- Once linked, a backup of your game progress (inventory, gold, collections, quests and settings) is stored in Cloud Firestore so you can restore it on a new device.
- We do not receive or store your Google or Apple password.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To operate the leaderboard, the Community Boss Event and its rewards
- To show approved community collections to other players
- To back up and restore your game progress when you link an account
- To deliver invite rewards
- To send local notifications (event start/end reminders, daily streak reminders). You can turn these off in Settings or in your device settings.
- To serve advertisements through Google AdMob
- To analyse crash reports and improve game stability
- To understand how features are used and balance the game (for example, adjusting event difficulty through Firebase Remote Config)
4. Third-Party Services and Advertising
a) Google AdMob
EggDex: Item Collector displays rewarded video ads provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use data to serve personalised or non-personalised ads, including:
- Advertising ID (such as Apple's IDFA or Google's AAID)
- IP Address
- Device information
- Ad interaction data
For users residing in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, and certain US States (e.g., California), we use the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK to request your explicit consent before showing personalised ads. On iOS, we ask for permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before accessing the Advertising ID. You can manage your consent choices in the Game's Settings or via your device settings.
b) Google Firebase
We use the following Firebase services:
- Authentication: anonymous accounts and optional Google / Apple account linking
- Cloud Firestore: leaderboard, event data, invite codes, community collections and cloud save backups
- Analytics: aggregated gameplay usage statistics
- Crashlytics: crash reports and diagnostics
- Remote Config: game balance settings

c) Sign in with Apple
If you choose Sign in with Apple, Apple's privacy policy also applies: Apple Privacy Policy.
d) Sharing
When you share an item or an invite code, the Game opens your device's share menu. We do not see or store what you share or who you share it with.
5. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR)
EggDex: Item Collector is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly. When serving ads to users whose age is unknown, AdMob is configured to serve non-personalised ads as a precaution.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Google: for ad delivery, cloud database, analytics and crash reporting (see Section 4)
- Other players: your username, scores, event damage, titles and approved community collections are visible in the Game
- Law enforcement: if required by applicable law
7. Data Retention and Deletion
You have full control over your data.
Local data: Game progress stored on your device can be deleted at any time by uninstalling the Game.
Cloud data and account: To permanently delete your account and all associated cloud data (username, leaderboard entry, event participation, invite data, community collections, cloud save backup and linked account), open Settings in the Game, tap DELETE MY DATA and confirm. Your data is permanently erased from our Firebase database. If you used Sign in with Apple, the Game's access to your Apple ID is also revoked.

Exceptions:
- If you finished an event in 1st place, your username remains in that event's Hall of Champions and on its champion item, because these are part of other players' collections. On request, we will replace your username with a neutral name.
- Aggregated, anonymous statistics (such as item ownership percentages) cannot be linked back to you and are not deleted.
- Crash reports and analytics data are retained by Google according to Firebase's retention policies.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data (via the Settings menu or by email)
- Unlink your Google or Apple account
- Modify or withdraw your consent for personalised advertising
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 11.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical measures to protect the information we handle. All data is encrypted in transit. Access to cloud data is restricted by security rules so that each player can only read and modify their own private data, such as their cloud save. Game data stored locally on your device is protected by your device's own security mechanisms. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Game after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
